Braces can seem daunting, but recent technological advancements have made them more lightweight, comfortable, and better-looking than ever! These modern braces are created with high-grade stainless steel and attach to teeth using a special cement. Each bracket connects to an archwire that applies pressure to shift teeth into their new positions! To link the archwire to the bracket, o-rings are used which are changed each time braces are tightened by Dr. Rahimi, our Board Certified Orthodontist. Clear braces offer an alternative to traditional metal braces and allow you to correct your teeth alignment discreetly. The brackets are typically composed of porcelain or clear material, whereas the wire can be made of metal or white material, depending on your needs and preferences. During your consultation, we'll evaluate whether clear braces are right for you. If so, special dental cement is used to attach the brackets to the front of your teeth. Then, clear elastic ligatures attach the wire to the brackets, which gradually move your teeth by applying pressure to your periodontal ligaments. Once you achieve your ideal alignment, the wires then serve to hold your teeth stable while your jawbone and ligaments heal.
